North Carolina

Over Memorial Day weekend I had the privilege of going to North Carolina and playing with 17 of the most talented photographers in the country. It was a weekend filled with little sleep, much giggling, getting to know friends a bit better, and building some incredible relationships. I can honestly say that I could call any of these women in the middle of the night and they would come arunnin’.

We also photographed some incredibly beautiful people. Seniors, maternity, babies, children….they just kept coming and we just kept shooting. It was an incredible experience and one that I hope to duplicate some time in the next year.

Love you all!!!

Presenting the darling Miss Emma {Eagle, ID newborn photography}

Emma’s mommy and I have known each other for over six years. I was the camp director for our ward’s young women and Ashley was one of my assistants. You would have though that this sixteen year old had run a major company in her youth. She was so incredibly organized. We made a great team, because between the two of us we had single handedly made more lists than was ever known to man. Truth be told, I was just trying to keep up with her.

Ashley is all grown up and married now – and has a beautiful baby girl. Emma is the first grand daughter on Ashley’s side of the family. I have a sneaky suspicion that this child is going to be a tad on the spoiled side. And who would not spoil this darling little girl.

Emma was a dream to work with. She took short breaks for little snacks and then was right back in the “saddle” ready to continue shooting. What a darling little thing. Daddy was also great to work with. He was so good with her – you would have thought that this was his sixth child, not his first.

Congratulations on your new little angel. Enjoy your sneak peak.

Adalay {Eagle, Id newborn photography}

Oh Adalay.  You are so loved.  Your mom and dad have waited for you for so many years….

Miss Adalay has four older brothers and she has e. very. one. wrapped around her little fingers.  Dad looks at her and wants to go out and buy her a car.  Her brothers want to hold her, and hug her, and kiss her – all day long.

Then there is mom.  Mom finally has her little girl.  Addi’s room is hot pink and black.  Addi has more clothes than you and I both put together.  And mom has her priorities straight.  She is spending this time swaddling her and snuggling.  She knows that this time will pass.  Good for her.  And good for this amazing family.  Welcome to the world, Adalay!!!

a few more…

Just had to share a few more from this amazing family.

Birthdays….[Eagle, ID child photography]

Carter is turning 2.  And big brother, Peyton, is turning 5.  Two fun boys just coming over to play….

These two are full of energy and I had such a good time having them play with my boys’ toys.  Dinosaurs and trains all over the studio brought back so many memories of days spent playing with boy things.

Happy Birthday!

Miss Christa {Eagle, Id newborn photographer}

Christa’s mommy called and scheduled her newborn appointment a couple of months ago and I have been looking forward the to the call that she was in labor ever since.  I was so excited when mom emailed me that she was being induced last week.

Our first go at her newborn photos was not as successful as we would have liked.  Most newborns are sleepy and curl up into the most adorable balls of sweet smelling yummy goodness.  Christa is her own woman and decided that she would like to remain awake for the entire three and a half hours that we shot.  Luckily, mom and dad decided that it would be okay to try again a few days later.
Christa went for her checkup this morning and the doctor said the most amazing thing…”For a week old baby, she sure is wide awake.”  Mom burst out laughing, thinking of our session, as did I when she told me the story.

This afternoon, in a warm room and with her tummy full, Christa decided that it was okay to go with the flow.  She snuggled and slept through two hours of us posing her, changing outfits, switching headbands and was an incredible model.  Christa’s mom was quite the child model, too, I hear.

It brought tears to my eyes as I uploaded these photos and realized how close this little angel was to her Heavenly Father just a week ago.  Babies bring such a special spirit into a home.  Thank you for trusting me with capturing these precious moments!

Madison is growing up. [Eagle Idaho Baby Photographer]

If I were to tell you that Miss Madison was a preemie, you would probably not believe me.  She looks so healthy and happy….and at 6 months old, she is bigger than all her full term friends.

Not only was she a preemie, her mom was hospitalized for months with preterm labor.  You just can’t tell.  This little girl is the apple of her parent’s eye and I am so thrilled that they trust me with documenting their daughter’s life.  She is just a delight.  Happy, happy baby!

What a beautiful newborn – Eagle, ID Premier Photographer

Madison – oh Madison.  You are SO incredibly loved.  By your parents, your grandparents, and your entire extended family.

Madison’s mommy spent quite a few weeks in the hospital to make sure that she got here safely.  The sacrifices that were made for her are incredible, and the love that is evident in this couple’s expressions and how they hold and cuddle her is so precious.  Amazing mommy and daddy.  Amazing child.  You make such a beautiful family.  It was such a pleasure to be a part of your day.
