Summer travels

I keep thinking that I will have time to update my VERY neglected blog…..and then I find myself packing to go out of town again.

One more trip and then I should be home for the rest of the summer. I am so looking forward to updating all of the wonderful sessions that I have done over the last few months.

In the mean time – check out my page on facebook for the latest and greatest happenings and photos.

Off to Bass lake, California!!!

Miss Audra

Audra is the oldest of four amazing kids.  And as the oldest, she is always making sure that everyone is taken care of.  Shoes on?  Hair combed?  Happy?  Fed?

Audra helps her mom with her two sisters and her brother.  And so when it came time to take individual photographs of the four kids, it was Audra who ran upstairs to get the changes of clothes, and to find her brother’s toy, and to get the fan to blow everyone’s hair back.

Unfortunately for me, it also meant that I did not get as many shots of Audra as I would have liked last spring.

Putting everyone else ahead of her is something that she does so well – so it was SO fun to put Audra center stage last week.  No one else had their photos taken.  If someone needed something, they just had to get it themselves – because mom and Audra were busy – making sure that SHE was the star of the show.

As a fellow first born, I can totally appreciate what this young lady does every day.  It is difficult and thankless.   She carries much responsibility without any authority.  But it all works out in the end!

You are gorgeous, little lady!  And I don’t just say that because you look just like your daddy…who just happens to be my baby brother!

Separated at Birth

Rachel and Caitlin were best friends all through high school.  Choir, dances, weekends, church…they could always be found together.

Both girls decided on different colleges.

Caitlin and Jaclynn were now roommates.  Jaclynn reminded Caitlin of Rachel.

Caitlin transfered closer to home, and Jaclynn followed her.

Caitlin went to “meet the parents” for the Valentine’s day weekend leaving Jaclynn home alone.   Jaclynn decided it was time that she and Rachel met – so she traveled 6 hours to our home.

WOW – these two could be twins.  They laugh at the same silly things.  Finish each other’s sentences.  Like the same foods.  Like the same movies.  They are both loud.  REALLY REALLY LOUD.  In general, these two could not be more similar.  When they asked if I could take their photos, before they headed out for an evening of fun, how could I resist?  Twist my arm, ow, ow. Hate it when I have to take photos of two gorgeous young women!  And I am so glad that they could keep each other company during a boyfreindless Valentine’s Day weekend.

Jaclynn heads back to school tomorrow, but I have a feeling that these two will be together again real soon.  And I couldn’t be happier!  She fits right in – now if my boys were a little bit older, we could make her officially part of the family…….maybe we’ll adopt her!
