Ankle Surgery and Surfing the Net

I had hoped to make great strides in blog-catch-up while I was recovering from ankle surgery this month. What I was not prepared for was how much my ankle would hurt and how little I would feel like working.

Instead, I have had plenty of time to surf the web in preparation for my daughter’s wedding next month. One of the greatest finds I have made has been OUR BEST BITES – a fabulous cooking blog put together by Sara Wells and Kate Jones.

Sara and Kate are both stay at home moms and have been blogigng about food since 2008 and have recently published a fabulous book: Our Best Bites – Mormon Moms in the Kitchen

I can not wait to get back on my feet and try these wonderful recipes out.  The photos are great (of course I would comment on the photos) and the recipes are tried and true.

This would be a perfect gift for those seniors who will be heading to college in a few months – let me know if you get it and try some of the recipes!

Sarah – Eagle High School Class of 2012 {Eagle, ID Senior Photography}

One of the things that I ask my seniors to do in their Pre-Consultation is to work with me on making their session meaningful. I can take you to random places that I like to photograph session at, but your photos will mean more to you if there is some kind of reason that we go there.

All his mom’s words. All of them true.

I am so in love with this session. I had a blast. Trevor “said” he had a blast. Mom is happy. I am happy.

Now the pictures……

The Gorgeous Ms. Kaylie

What can I say about Kaylie? She is energetic, loves to play tennis, has a great sense of fashion, and is so comfortable in her skin, that she makes taking photographs of her such an easy job!

I was so excited to get these photos of Kaylie for her mom….when Kaylie leaves for college, mom will be left with a house full of boys and I know that she will treasure these. We had a fabulous time!

Enjoy your sneak peak!

It would take pages to try to describe all of the great things that Kenna does with her time. She magnifies every role that she has. It was such a pleasure to spend some time with Kenna and get to know her a little better. She is amazing!

I can’t wait see where life leads you. There are great things in store for you, my dear.

Taylor

Taylor’s family lives in a part of the country where they do not do senior pictures like we do them here in the west. Fortunately for me, Taylor’s dad wanted him to have some senior photos done and asked if I would be interested in photographing him if he flew him out to Idaho. SURE – I said. But wouldn’t it be funner to do them where Taylor grew up?

A few months, and few emails and phone calls later, I got to spend the day with Taylor in his home town. We went to some of the most amazing places and I had an incredible time getting to know this young man. He is talented, genuine, a great friend, and just a little bit of a smart aleck – which means that we got along fabulously.

Thanks for the great memories, Taylor. Keep me posted on all of the amazing things that I know are in store for you!

Courtney

Sen10rs! What fun.

Our first outing for Courntey ended abruptly when a huge thunderstorm rolled in. Thunder, lightning, high winds….but you would have never known it by how calm Courtney remained. We had such a fun time, but we kept moving. Makes my job so easy when a beautiful girl with fabulous fashion sense and full of grace is my subject.

Round two was in the studio. Courtney has been dancing since she was a little girl and dance has been a big part of her life.

When then we headed outside to try again. While we waited for the sun to go down, Brooklyn, Courtney’s younger sister – and my assistant for the night, pointed out some four leaf clovers. She was picking them out left and right and we decided that it was going to be our lucky day!

We ended our fun night with a few photos using a chair that belonged to Courtney’s great grandmother.

Good luck at BYU, Courtney! Congratulations!!!

Prom 2010

Bekah has cheated me out of a whole year of dance photos by graduating a year early….darn it! So when one of her friends called and asked if I would take pictures for her and her prom date, I jumped at the opportunity.

I have known 3 of these wonderful kids since they were around 13 years old. It has been so fun to watch them grow and mature. They have amazing opportunities ahead of them…

The fourth is an amazing young man with big plans – I know that he will be able to do anything that he sets his mind to. You can see it in his eyes.

On to the photos….
I asked one of the moms if she wouldn’t mind getting some helium balloons for the shoot, and because the dance theme was “Carnival” mom brought some lions and tigers as props. SO fun! As for the location, we decided that doing something a little different would be in order (do I ever do anything like the rest of the world?). Take four gorgeous teenagers and put them in front of some dilapidated buildings and you have amazing juxtaposition. The girls dresses just POPPED and I love how these turned out.

Thanks for letting me be a part of sen10r Prom. AND Happy Birthday, Tyler!!!

Enjoy!

Sara is a Senior!

Beautiful Sara…I have watched Sara grow from a fun loving 6th grader to a high school senior!  What great times!!!!

Sara will be graduating a semester early and moving back east this January.  It will be so sad to have her family leave our area, but we are so excited for the new adventure in their lives. Funny how life throws you a curve ball and things just fall into place.  Sara will be AMAZING where ever she lands!
